GOLF

A Pristine Course in The Heart of Downtown.

The 18 hole golf course features an abundance of trees lining the fairways, contoured greens and a parklike atmosphere that challenges both the amateur and the pro.

Even though the club hosts major events such as the US Senior Open Qualifiers, our members are fortunate to have the only walk on course in Albuquerque. That’s right, no tee times! ACC offers a putting green, driving range & chipping green.

A Golf Experience Like No Other.

A putting green, driving range and chipping green permits a golfer's practice at leisure, and a snack bar, or half-way house, on the course gives players the opportunity to "cool off" or "stoke up" before continuing their game.

The WGA Is The Place To Be!

It all began in 1933 when a small group of women organized the Women’s Golf Association of the Albuquerque Country Club. The WGA has golfing and non-golfing (Social) memberships available for a very nominal yearly fee. Fun and competitive events are held all throughout the year.

Jim Davison, PGA
Director of Golf

Dale C. ‘TIGER’ Montano, PGA
Head Golf Professional

Jim’s career as a golf professional started in 1990 when he was hired as an assistant golf professional at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa soon after graduating from college. His career, which has spanned over 29 years so far, has included stints as an assistant professional at multiple clubs in the Midwest including Inverness Golf Club in the Chicago area and Cedar Rapids CC, the only Donald Ross designed course in the state of Iowa. Since there was not much golf going on during the Midwest winters, Jim made his way out West every winter to work at Desert Highlands Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ, which played host to the original “Skins Game” in the early eighties featuring Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, and Gary Player.
It was during this time that Jim discovered many of benefits the Southwest had to offer. He spent four winters at Desert Highlands traveling back and forth from the Midwest every six months and in 1995 became a full time Arizona resident when he was hired as the First-Assistant Golf Professional at Forest Highlands Golf Club in Flagstaff. With the addition of the second course in 1999, Jim was promoted to the Head Golf Professional position at the original Canyon course, rated in the top fifty in the U.S. at the time, and in June of 2001 became the Director of Golf overseeing both facilities. During his many years at Forest Highlands, the club played host to numerous state and regional tournaments in addition to two national championships, the 1996 U.S. Junior and 2006 U.S. Mid-Amateur. After Forest Highlands, Jim found his way to Albuquerque Country Club in 2010 where he was named the Head Golf Professional in 2011 and was recently honored as the 2018 Sun Country Section PGA Merchandiser of the Year for private clubs.
Jim was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa and is the youngest of three children. He attended the University of Dubuque where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Biology while lettering in golf and basketball for four and three years respectively. Jim and his wife Sara enjoy the Albuquerque lifestyle and reside on the city’s west side.
Tiger has been a member of the Albuquerque Country Club team since late Spring of 2016.  A former multi-sport athlete, Tiger didn’t pick up the game of golf until age 24 and hasn’t looked back.  Before joining the team at ACC, Tiger honed his skills at New Mexico Tech Golf Course (Socorro, NM), Tierra del Sol Golf Course (Belen, NM) and Isleta Golf Club (Isleta Pueblo, NM).

Since earning his Class A membership with the PGA of America in January of 2017, a primary focus of Tiger’s has been cultivating junior golfers and growing the game.  Tiger has made junior golf a year-round sport at Albuquerque Country Club with junior golf drop-in clinics, after school programs, PGA Junior League, ACC summer junior golf camps and a PGA Junior League Fall recreational program.

Tiger was born in Albuquerque, NM and raised in El Paso, TX.  When he is not at work, he enjoys traveling with his wife Jennifer and spending time with his 4 nephews and 1 niece.
