Matthew Neeld grew up in Roswell, NM where he spent most of his time enjoying all of the activities that small towns have to offer and honing in his skills as a tennis player. In the Spring of 2008, he finished an undefeated senior year as the New Mexico State 4AAAA Single Tennis Champion. His tennis journey continued in the Fall of 2008 when he joined the University of New Mexico Lobos Men's tennis team. During his time on the team, the Lobos won a Mountain West Conference Championship and attained a Top 35 Intercollegiate Tennis Ranking.
Since graduating from UNM, Matthew has been coaching and working with players of all skill levels. From those that have picked up a racket for the first time all the way to those on the cutting edge of playing professional tennis. He has personally coached several local players who have become Division I tennis players themselves.
Matthew is known for his enthusiasm on court and his positive coaching style. He believes in hard work and discipline. Tennis is a sport for a lifetime and Matthew strives to make all of his lessons and clinics fun and enjoyable!
Matthew is the grandson of one of Albuquerque's acclaimed tennis champions, Nancy Neeld. His parents, Curtis and Jackie, live in Albuquerque and are actively involved in tennis also. He and his wife, Haven, are proud parents of two boys, with a third on the way.
